Citigroup’s headquarters are in the 50-storey “DS5” tower in London’s Canary Wharf, one of the most prestigious office districts in Britain. Faram produced and installed 5,000 square metres of partitioning from the P500 and P700 series The new brief complemented a previous project and was intended to create more luminous environments as well as complying with technical requirements such as the need for walls to accommodate floor deflection.
All new components were designed to accommodate the ± 45 millimetre load-induced deflection and to fit in with walls already installed on the other floors, while creating a more open environment with different signage.
Two connected walls
The similar width of the walls from the P500 and P700 series made it possible to use them in combination. The P500 was used as a solid element separating work environments while the P700 was installed along circulation spaces with a silk-screened band on the outside of the glass.
A room with a view
The compatibility of the P500 and P700 walls made it possible to create a row of meeting rooms with solid and transparent walls around the perimeter of the building. The high acoustic privacy of the work spaces was accompanied by high levels of daylight.
