BSkyB recently extended its West London headquarters to house executive offices and around a thousand employees. One of the objectives of the project, awarded to BDP, was to change the image of the headquarters to create ‘loft’ aesthetic suited to a lively creative work environment.
The suspended ceilings were removed and the concrete and support structures were exposed to create an industrial look. The interior consists of open-space environments and free-standing pods with glass ceilings hooked up to the building’s services.
The offices feature free-standing pods with double-glazed walls from the P500 and P700 series with glass ceilings linked to the heating and air-conditioning systems. This provides fully independent soundproofed meeting and presentation rooms with the option of solid or bespoke interior walls.
The project for every floor
The pods are flexible in size and can be reconfigured according to available space and functional requirements; they alternate with open-plan areas containing Fra’Tino tables for a dynamic and innovative work environment.
Highly reconfigurable furnishings for open sea
The Fra’Tino modular platform was chosen for its ability to integrate with the pods as well as for its high levels of flexibility. The tops rest on support profiles and structural components are kept to a minimum, creating a dynamic environment with a sassy innovative look.
